I know this has been discussed before (and yes I have done a search) but just wanted to be sure as to which SCSI I should look out for
Have an old G4 which has a Atto Express PCI UL4S in it which all works fine with DLT
Also have a G5 and as I am getting a new MacPro (lucky me :-) my thinking was to perhaps retire the G4 and put the G5 in it's place as my machine for writing DLTs etc. But what SCSI do I need? I don't think I can rip the old one out of the G4 - or can I? How do i tell if G5 is PCI, PCIX or PCIe???
Any help/guidance gratefully received

Sorry, wrong website
Hi Steve,
sorry, I had the wrong website in mind. you have to look at ifixit.com.
this is the link: http://www.ifixit.com/info/ID-your-Mac

NOTE: uuuuh, I see, this is for laptops only! I could get the info from macnews.de but this is a german website, maybe you are able to get the information out of it:
http://macnews.de/datenbanken/gebrauchtpreisliste/Desktop/77444.html
normally this is a 2nd-hand-price-list!
MacFixIT - where do I look?
Hi Danny
Thanks for this - where would I look on MacFixIt to find it. I have my serial No.
Steve
which G5 is it?
hi steve,
if you could have a look at the part-no. of the g5 and/or the system-configuration, you will find it out, if you have a look at macfixit.com for example.
I remember that I used the atto UL3S and UL3D within my old G5 dual 2Ghz, Rev. 1, so if your G5 have PCI or PCI-X the UL4S will work!
If it is a newer G5 with PCIe you have to buy a newer UL5S or D.
NOTE: be careful with the driver, I remember that one of the last atto-driver wasn´t working properly.
