Beta3 .SIT

Posted Jun 06,2004 5:15 PM LiquidPanther

The .sit generates an error message while trying to unstuff the file. The resulting TFDVDEdit3 beta will not open a VIDEO_TS folder.

The message is:

Signal Raised
Condition !(references)

Function: __dt
File: ApplicationPendingOp.h
Line#27

Thanks LP,

I'm checking it. Let you know soon,

Trai

Hi Trai,

I get the same message but not on all my build folders. Let me know if you want my ifo file for the one which generates the above message.

Hi Rodney,

Did you redownload? I changed the new file to a sitx archive, and it works for me here.

Please let me know,

Trai

Hi Trai,

I think you misunderstood. My version downloaded fine but I received the same error messages. I redownloaded the new version and on one build I get the same error. And on another it works fine. TFDVDEdit 2.0.5 works fine on the build which the beta refuses to look at.

Let me know if you require any further info.

Rodney

Oh,

Yikes. Well in that case, we need to know what's up with those build folders that the beta is having trouble with.

Are these problem VIDEO_TS folders "clean" builds, straight from the authoring system?

Thanks,

Trai

Hi Trai,

This was me investigating a commercial DVD from a hard drive. I copied to my hard drive using dvdbackup 1.3. I have never had a problem using this method before with TFEdit.

Let me know what you need.

Rodney

Hi Rodney,

I am unable to duplicate your problem. Can you give me the name of one or more commercial dvd's that fail, so John or I can try to see the problem?

Thanks,

Larry

Hi Larry,

I don't have the disc any more as it is was a clients. It was Whale Rider. Interestingly though I did save a copy which had been processed through DVD2ONE as a reference and the problem doesn't persist.

If you want I'll go and buy a copy and ship it to you, as I don't think you will be able to access it in the States, it's PAL.

I'll keep you posted.

Rodney

Hi Rodney,

Hi Rodney,

Let's see if the problem persists and if someone else has an example of a disc that fails, without going to all that trouble. It will probably pop up again in a more obvious situation.

The error itself should not be fatal, you should be able to continue unless something else goes wrong later.

Hope this helps,

Larry

Hi Larry,

No problems. I'll keep you posted if I can get it reproduced on other projects.

Hi LP,

OK. Please try the download again.

Thanks,

Trai

It doesn't like my DVDSP VIDEO_TS folder. It does work on the same file from the member downloads.

Posted Jun 06,2004 9:05 PM Trai

Hi LP,

Make sure your troublesome DVD SP project has a first play target assigned. TFDVDEdit doesn't like projects without a first play target.

But otherwise, you've got a good download of the program now?

Thanks,

Trai

Trai you and the gang have come up with another wonderful beta! Got to put it though it's paces but so far ran basic open and ran the Tracer!!! Outstanding! not one crash as I ran one trace after another. A very cool new toy. This alone is a worthy update.

Been busy, been away but now I'm back. I'll see if I can break the beta for you by doing something dumb with Seamless Branching, which is just what I need, not to break but to use.... So much to learn.

My best to the team at work and home.

Peter

Yes the download is fine. I'm check to see what the first play is of the project.

Tracer is absolutely incredible.

Still getting the message. It will not open any of my projects.

I'm using TFDVDEdit 3.0b1.13 if that's different from Beta3. It seems I only get these errors when trying to view from a ripped disc and not with builds from the authoring app.

I've only had one error message pop-up from a build to the HD but I may have played with the Nav Packs on that project and messed something up! I'll re-build it and see if that changes anything.

Error one is from a ripped disc and error two is from a 'old' dvdsp 2 build to HD test.
