Ernie - issue with Tracer & system commands

Hi Ernie!

I recently stumbled onto something with Tracer, where it previews the disc as desired - but the disc does not actually work correctly in a player. From what I understand in speaking with Trai, the "set button" command is a system command, which is supposed to override SPRM 8 - but Tracer does not follow this override.

Please email me at benchmarque@mac.com so i can go into more detail and set you up with a build folder that demos this problem.

Thanks!

Hi Ben,

Are you using the command to set a specific button using Value? As in 'Set Button Value B1' or moving SPRM_8 to a register and then using 'Set Button GPRM R15' to set it? Cause when I do the latter I have no problems but I haven't tried setting it the other way,

Jake

Hey Jake!

Ernie managed to resolve the problem I was having, and I'm actually using both methods you described. As it turns out, I had a "set button" pre-command in a place that a) I forgot about, and b) didn't think it would have the effect that it does. As far as we know right now, Tracer was not handling this particlular scenario correctly - even though Ernie and I thought it was.

According to the DVD Spec., when using a JumpVTS_PTT (to jump from a menu via button activation to a chapter in a VTS, for example), a whole bunch of things happen before the chapter is played - including a visit to the pre-command area of the VTS. I was always under the impression that navigation would jump directly to the chapter/PTT, bypassing the pre-command area - but this is not the case.
