Hi Guys,
I recently had Trai write 2 DLTs for this project I've been working on. The first round was a bust since I used Gear for the layer break - it went to replication and I had to pay for another round of disc.
This time the layer break works fine but about 5 mins or so before the layer break the check discs start skipping? It only happens it this point in the disc.
Ive QC'd it on two player so far - the same thing. When my client finds out he's gonna poo his pants!
Can anyone give any insight on what may be the problem here. It's got to be a replication problem right? How can I go about determining who is at fault. My bitrates are CBR at 6MB/s with AC3@.192
Also, any hints on dealing with an angry client?
Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,
Crap. Remember, I reported to you that MEI returned a "Wrong buffer management" multiplex error in your build? It was at about that location.
I guess we now both know that error shouldn't be ignored. I apologize for not raising the alarm and refusing to proceed without a resubmission.
As for what to do at this point, why don't you send me a couple of different builds of your project, and hopefully DVD SP will get one of them right (of course I'll re-premaster and verify this round at no charge), as this seems to be an intermittant error.
As for what to say to your client; I've often used the strategy of first extolling the virtues of Apple and DVD SP, and then slip in that they can sometimes bite pretty hard; this is followed by profuse apologies with promises that the job will get done right (some authors have even had me talk to their clients on occasion, and that always works to buy some time).
Let me know,
Trai
