Reading DDP files

We have a need to read a DDP file (with .dat) and write it out to a Video_TS or DLT. I thought DVDAfterEdit would do that, but it doesn't seem to. Am I missing the feature? If not, does anybody know a Mac solution that will? Thanks.

Hi Jeremy,

Yes we can do that. Make sure your DDPID.DAT, CONTROL.DAT and IMAGE.DAT are in a "Layer 0" folder in another enclosing folder, and then we can bring it right on in.

Let me know your questions,

Trai

Hrmm.. That's what it seemed like, but we get the message:
"The folder chosen does not contain the proper folder and file structure for a tape image."

The files from Eclipse don't match exactly what you listed. Eclipse gave us the following files: CONTROL.DAT, DDPID, layer0.layer_info, MAIN.DAT (note DDPID did not have an extension). And DVDAfterEdit doesn't seem to like those. Any ideas?

He Jeremy,

The names should be fine. By files from Eclipse do you mean Eclipse created them? The layer0.layer_info is an extraneous file as far as we are concerned, but we ignore such. And are your mastering preferences set to Tape Image Format DDP Image, and not Scenarist SGI or Scenarist NT?

Unfortunately our error message can be generated from several places. Can you send me the files on a data disc? If they are created from Eclipse what format was the source? (Perhaps I could run a test).

Regards,

Larry
