Hello all, I am new to all of this but it seems this product will do everything I need it to do. I have a VERY complex DVD TEST. Its for an automotive client, and they need to create a Portuguise version, I have already recreated all of the menus and translated all of the Videos and elements, and when I open the origional Video TS file I notice I can see HOW they are recording the answers for the online test answer sheet. I do not have the Script writing or GPRM coding knowledge to pull this off, but I see it all in the DVDAE software. Does anyone have any reccomendation of how I can pull this off in a short time?
THANKS for ANY help!!!!
Jamie
It is a learning curve
Hi Jamie,
Yes, this sort of thing can be easy to do if you have a bit of ability and a lot of patience. But it involves learning a command set for DVD that has some peculiarities and limitations, even though it is fairly simple otherwise. That doesn't fit too well with "in a short time". I would also think that the translation alone, and making sure that the result is clear to a native Portuguese speaker could also be a difficult task.
Given that warning, it is also important to know what software was used to create the original test, and what software you are now using. If you can easily understand the commands they are likely not DVD Studio Pro, because it has a very arcane abstraction layer.
If you can build exactly the same structure as the original VIDEO_TS folder, you can just copy and paste the commands. But that may not be possible to do, depending on the applications.
We could help you to do this, but this would take several hours of our time and most likely multiple exchanges of assets and informaiton, and would go far beyond what could be expected as normal application support.
However I would be interested in seeing a screen dump of some of the commands and the structure you are seeing, you can email them to support at this web site.
Regards,
Larry
