Replace PCG: is it possible?

Good morning.

I got a lot of DVDs NOT produced by my own facility.
In these DVDs I should replace an old PCG: old credits (video MPEG2) must be replaced with new ones (video MPEG2 or even still).
Is it possible with DVDAE?

Thanks Danny, your answers are correct

Hi Shylock,

You may import VTS with standard or ME, you must have ME to replicate. But you must use OS 10.4 (Tiger), since Leopard has broken the Import VTS dialog that we used.

There are examples in our articles of what you wish to do, and many of our customers have done this with even hundreds of DVD's. Even though we are very busy with BD, we still support all of our customers.

Regards,

Larry

I´ve got DVDAfterEdit ME

Sorry mate,
I´ve got DVDAfterEdit ME, and couln´t tell you if it is possible within the demo-version or not, but it could be possible that you can´t import VTS with it.

If you need to go for replication with the final DVD, you need to order the ME (Mastering Edition), with it you could write DDP or CMF-images from your existing VIDEO_TS-folder to DLT or your harddisk.

I guess Larry and the rest are really bussy programming code for the BD-solution, so I try to answer your questions as good as I can!

Thank you. To try this I

Thank you.
To try this I think I have to buy the commercial version, this feature (new VTS) isn't present in the trial.
Is it true?

create/import VTS

Hi shylock,
what you can do is, to create a new VTS, that you import into your existing project. so first of all, make a backup of the original-data.

afterwards you can delete the cells or the PGC with the old credits and jump from your existing film into the new VTS with the new credits by using the post-command.

just keep in mind, to jump from one VTS to another you have to go through VMG by using a Dummy-PGC within VMG and a link to the new VTS, so navigation to the new credits could take a while, if there is a black picture at the start of credits, I think this wouldn´t matter.
