At our cd-mastering studio, we had a few requests from clients if we could add ISRC's on a dvd.
So we bought DVDAfteredit to do this and it works fine.
Although the Eclipse tester doesn't see the codes.
What i would like to know is:
Are these ISRC's actually accessed by any equipment or at least readable by any application other than DVDAfteredit (or Gear) itself ?
If so, it will make a stronger message to all potential clients, to make use of this feature.
Plus they will be able to verify which dvd has codes already and which has not (yet).
Thanks,

isrc's
Larry,
While i knew that not many systems read isrc's from dvd, you're telling me that due to a bug, isrc's made with DVDAE never will be readable elsewhere?
I bought this program (and recently upgraded to the ME) for just this feature !
Already i have done jobs for a client, specifically to just add codes on existing masters and they trusted me on this.
I don't know what to say... or do ...
As said, i CAN read them back with DVDAE but an Eclipse analyzer can't. While it should, shouldn't it ?
Will BDAfterEdit (HDAfterEdit ?) be able to do this on normal dvd's and resolve my problem for next jobs ?
I hope you can help me out !
Peter
Hi Peter, No, these codes
Hi Peter,
No, these codes are only readable by DVDAfterEdit itself, due to my programming error, and was not caught because of the small number of people who used this function in the early days. It is still useful because you can prove that the ISRC codes were entered on the DVD, and that the client therefore owns the rights to that music.
I apologize for my mistake, and that I cannot take time now to go back and revisit this in DVDAfterEdit. Blu-ray also supports ISRC, and we are implementing it correctly in BDAfterEdit.
Regards,
Larry
