Is it flagged for CSS and Macrovision?

If you were given a VIDEO_TS folder and asked to determine if the video had been flagged for CSS and Macrovision and didn't have Eclipse or MEI, what could you do (if anything) to make that determination?

Let me know...

Michael

Thanks, Ian

Thanks for the reply.

Crap! I see that DVDAE displays the APS bits. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

Michael

Hi Michael, As you know,

Hi Michael,

As you know, neither of these are legal except for DDP images and pressed discs, so no VIDEO_TS folder should contain the flags. However you can check for the Macrovision flags at the navpack level - non-zero flags indicate that Macrovision should be applied at the plant. To the best of my knowledge, CSS is not flagged in the VIDEO_TS folder, so there's no way to check for it. ( If I understand correctly, it can only be applied to a 2054-byte sector image file )

To make certain, I guess you could run the files through one of the usual ripping programs.

Hope that helps,

Ian
